Succulents and air plants are becoming increasingly popular due to their low maintenance requirements and aesthetic appeal. Here's a brief overview of each:

Air Plants

Light & Location:

Outside: Shade source, no direct sunlight.

Inside: Indirect bright light is adequate, fluorescent light prefer high humidity room, good airflow,

More direct light, such as from an East facing window, will help encourage flowers and color changes.

Water:

There are two methods to water your air plants:

Spray/Misting or Soaking.

Spray/ Mist until dripping wet, weekly is adequate. If air plant is not removable from mount (driftwood), spray/ mist more often.

If possible, alternatively, soak your air plant im rain or purified water, if use tap, let stand 24-48 hours before dunking, for 30-60 minutes every 2 weeks.

Gently shake off excess water, do mot allow water to pool at base, and allow the air plant to dry 4-6 hours upside down or on its side on a towel for 4-6 hours to prevent rot. If you use fertilizer, only fertilize once a month.

Tips:

  • Never plant in soil

  • If your air plant leaves are brown and dry, this is a sign of over watering.

  • If your air plant leaves are bowing inward, this is a sign of underwatering.

  • Under watering is easier to recover from overwatering. Start off with less watering and adjust as the plant needs.

  • If your plant falls apart from the inside, this is a sign the plant was over watered and rotted.

  • if possible, always remove your air plant from the terrarium (especially glass) prior to watering. Let dry before returning to the terrarium. Make sure there is not water in bottom of terrarium.

Succulents

Light & Location:

Give succulents half a day filtered sun is best for a newly planted arrangement and rotate frequently.

Water:

Water soil directly until water drains out of drainage hole(s), not mist, as that can cause them to rot. Water according to the season. The soil should be bone dry before watering. Under watering is better than over watering.

Tips:

Prune withered and yellow leaves to prevent rot.

Your Krissy's Kreations succulent arrangement is in a container that has adequate drainage hole(s) and grainy soil mixture.
